FURminator describe it as reaching through the topcoat to remove loose undercoat hair without cutting skin or damaging the topcoat when used as directed — that last clause is doing real work, because the tool is aggressive and over-using it on the wrong coat can thin it. On a double-coated dog in a spring moult it removes an alarming and satisfying quantity of hair that a slicker never reaches. The FURejector button clears the blade in one press. Owners report it outperforming rakes and note reduced shedding for several days afterward, splitting mainly on price.
