The verdict
A plain elevated cot at half the price of the convertible version, and for pure hot-weather use it does the same job. Eight inches of clearance under a Teslin mesh deck, a steel frame, and Bedsure make the sensible point that the height suits dogs at every stage from puppies to seniors — a raised bed is also a bed that is easier for a stiff old dog to get onto than a floor cushion. Weather-resistant and washable with a hose, which is the practical test for anything living on a patio. Owners like the airiness and the easy cleaning, and split on sturdiness, with some describing it as wobbly. At 49 inches it fits a large dog stretched out, which is the position that matters on a hot day. Buy it for the summer and leave it out through the shoulder seasons.
